Things that don't happen every day...
1. So, it is about 10:15 last night, just starting to go to sleep, when the sirens start. Now, I am aware of the fact that I live in a big city, and sirens are a part of city life. Well, these sirens aren't stopping, and are instead joined by many, many, many other sirens. Then at about 11:00, still sirens awailing, I start to smell smoke. I get up, go over to the sliding glass door and look out. The whole west loop is covered with all this grey smoke. A bunch of us are now standing outside on our balconies, in boxer shorts, t-shirts, and assorted sleepwear, commenting on the smoke filled west loop and the multitude of sirens. We wondered what was burning, as we couldn't see where the supposed fire was, nor where the sirens were coming from. All seemed to calm down about midnight, and was quiet until about 5:30 AM when the news/traffic helicopters were buzzing around presumably filming the charred remains of what happened to burn.
Turns out -- CANDLE FACTORY burned down. Hee! Luckily no one was hurt, but damn, it was a big ass fire. And I smelled it!
2. A co-worker brought in Halloween cookies this morning -- pumpkins and ghosts. Looks like one of the ghost molds got inverted, as printed in big black frosting across the ghost's chest? !OOB
